The Independent Uzbekistan Uzbekistan is a sovereign and independent state. The independence of the country was proclaimed in 1991. Every year on the first of September we celebrate our holiday. This holiday is the independence day. After getting independence Uzbekistan has its own emblem, state flag and state anthem. Uzbekistan is situated in the center of Central Asia and occupies a territory of 447, 600 square kilometers. The populations of Uzbekistan is about 27 million. For long centuries the Uzbek land was dominated by foreign invaders. Today Uzbekistan is a country with high standard of public education, science and art. Uzbekistan is the land of ancient culture.
