2 TASK Write about computer parts functions.


1.Power supply is an electrical device that supplies electric power to an electrical load. The primary function of a power supply is to convert electric current from a source to the correct voltage, current, and frequency to power the load.


2.Dedicated video graphics card (or video adapter) is an expansion card installed inside your system unit to translate binary data received from the CPU or GPU into the images you view on your monitor. It is another to the integrated graphics chip. Modern video cards embrace ports permitting you to attach to totally different video equipment; additionally, they contain their own RAM, known as video memory.
3.Back USB connector ubiquitous to modern society, USB tech can be found in at least one or more devices people use on a daily basis. The CPU performs basic arithmetic, logic, controlling, and input/output (I/O) operations specified by the instructions in the program.
8. MOTHERBOARD (also called mainboard, main circuit board or mobo) is the main printed circuit board (PCB) in general-purpose computers and other expandable systems.
9. HEAT SINK (also commonly spelled heatsink[1]) is a passive heat exchanger that transfers the heat generated by an electronic or a mechanical device to a fluid medium, often air or a liquid coolant, where it is dissipated away from the device, thereby allowing regulation of the device's temperature.

11. A peripheral or peripheral device is an auxiliary device used to put information into and get information out of a computer. 3 TASK Task 1. Read this interview with Adam Hawkins, an IT manager, and complete it with words from the PDA section opposite.

Interviewer: What are the basic features of a PDA?


Adam: Well, a typical PDA is a (1) small device that runs on batteries and combines computing, phone and Net capabilities.
Interviewer: And how do you enter information?

Interviewer: What sort of things can you do with a PDA?
