INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM
ENVIRONMENT 2010: Situation and Perspectives for the European Union.

Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, 6 - 10 May 2003

BULLETIN No. 4

Symposium Venue

The symposium will be held in the new Faculty of Engineering (FEUP) (http://www.fe.up.pt) which is pretty close to Hospital S.João, a well-known reference. It is located at about 5 km both from the city centre (Praça da Liberdade) and the suggested hotels (Rotunda da Boavista), but well served by buses and taxis. If you have to ask someone where FEUP is, please stress that you are looking for the NEW complex, close to Hospital S. João.

Oral presentations

Oral presentations will have duration of 15 minutes. In principle, “Power Point” and overhead projections will be used. If you need other equipment, please contact the Secretariat before 30 April. Speakers are kindly asked to check their material during the coffee-break before their presentation. At that time they must provide to the sessions’ Chairman a very short personal introduction.
Poster Presentations

Posters will be exhibited from 6 to 8 May, at least. We suggest their author’s presence on 8 May, from 11/11:30 and 14:30/14:45, in order to provide informations to the other participants. Of course, there is no problem if the author can’t stay there.

One-page abstract will be published in the proceedings, provided typed according to the instructions.

General Programme

The general programme is presented at the end of this Bulletin.

Parallel Sessions

The programme of the parallel sessions is also presented at the end of the Bulletin.

Workshops

The workshops are identified in the general programme. They will be open spaces for discussion and meeting people with interests similar to yours.

Please allow a special mention to Workshop A – The “Prestige” Disaster. The convenors have done a great effort to make it one of the best scientific meetings ever organised on this subject, covering a wide range of issues. Qualified scientists from Portugal, Spain and France will proportionate a very interesting presentation.
