In English grammar, an irregular plural is not a noun that forms a plural by simply adding the suffix -s or -es to the base.
Although there are many nouns in the English regular plural, some nouns (e.g. sheep) do not have separate plural forms, while others (e.g. female and half) form a plural by changing the inner vowel makes (women) or consonant (half).
