The instrumentation for molecular synthesis and characterisation is satisfactory.
The new nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) facilities are particularly welcome. It is
important that these instruments be kept up to date. Electron
paramagnetic resonance
(EPR) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) are carried out in
collaboration with Canadian
colleagues, so the group should consider bringing these techniques in-house. A new
Raman spectrometer is also needed.
There is a desire to acquire further
analytical instrumentation, but this will
require cooperation with other institutes.
