Additional Requirements by Programme
Barrister Training Programme (BTC) and LLM Legal Practice (Bar) 
To meet BSB regulations, English language fluency will be assessed by reviewing a student’s written application and 
video evidence. If the Programme Team have concerns about English language ability based on the application, 
applicants will be required to complete an English Language Test to meet BSB requirements.
BSc (Hons) Nursing [Pre-registration Nursing] Programmes 
For BSc Nursing Programmes, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) requires a student to demonstrate their 
English language ability through either an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test or the 
Occupational English Test (OET).
Applicants will be required to complete an additional assessment with BPP’s School of Nursing to assess their 
knowledge of medical English. This is in addition to meeting the English entry requirement as listed previously.

Hong Kong
BPP accepts the Hong Kong Diploma in Secondary Education (HKDSE).
Required grades and their equivalencies for the HKDSE are as follows:

The HKDSE qualification can be used as English entry evidence for all programmes except the BTC 
and LLM Legal Practice (Bar) as it does not meet the entry requirements for these programmes.
India and Nepal
BPP will assess applicants from India and Nepal based on their Higher Secondary School Certificate and Higher 
Secondary Education Board Examination, hereby referred to as HSSC.
Applicants applying for MSc Management (all variants), MSc Accounting and Finance, MSc Accounting and 
Finance (ADAF route), MSc Healthcare Leadership or MSc Psychology (Conversion) who have achieved 60% 
or more in their HSSC English, and have completed a Bachelor’s degree course in English, are deemed by BPP to 
meet the English language requirements for their respective programmes. If an applicant does not have a mark of 
60% or more, they will be required to take a Speaking and Listening Orientation with BPP.
Should an applicant fail to reach the required level in the orientation, they may be able to join the Pre-Sessional 
English course or re-apply for the next available intake for reassessment.
