Activity 1 Listen and sing.

Objectives: to warm up; to create a friendly atmosphere 
STEP 1: 
Play the DVD. Ask the pupils to listen to the song and sing it. Look at Unit 9 Lesson 1 Activity 1 for the DVD 
script. 
STEP 2: 
Homework checking. Ask the pupils to mingle, read their description of an animal to each other: A reads, B listens 
and guesses. 
III. Main part
Activity 2a Look, listen and repeat.

Objectives: to introduce Australia, New Zealand and the animals that live there; to teach pupils how to say the new 
words correctly 
STEP 1: 
Ask the pupils to look at the pictures. Ask: 
What can you see in the pictures? 
Accept all answers. 
STEP 2: 
Ask them to repeat the words after you/the DVD in chorus, in rows/pairs and individually.
