Was → for singular subjects

Was: I He She It Were: We You They 
Positive form: subject + to be(was/were)+verb.....
Examples: 
I was happy. We were late. 
He was ill. You were angry. 
She was a nurse. They were at home. 
It was cold.

Negative form: subject + to be(was/were) +not+verb....
Examples: 
I was not (wasn't) happy. We were not (weren't) late. 
He was not (wasn't) ill. You were not (weren't) angry. 
She was not (wasn't) a nurse. They were not (weren't) at home. 
It was not (wasn't) cold.
Question form: to be(was/were) + subject + verb.... 
Examples: 
Was I happy? Were we late? 
Was he ill? Were you angry? 
Was she a nurse? Were they at home? 
Was it cold? 
To make past simple tenses, verbs are devided to two types:
1. regular verbs→they are made with "-ed" 
2. irregular verbs 
Positive form: subject + verb+ed....... 
Examples:

3.Complete the text with the past simple. 
Yesterday my family and I visited (visit) my grandparents. My mum ................(help) my 
grandma with the housework. My dad .............(clean) the windows. My brother and I ................(watch) 
cartoons on TV. Later, we ..............(play) outside in the garden. We ............(climb) up the tree to get to 
the treehouse. We ..............(stay) there all afternoon. Then our mum .............(call) us because it was 
time to go. Our grandparents .............(kiss) us goodbye and we .................(return) home. 
We make the past simple just like the present simple except we use 'did' instead of 'do / does'. It's really 
easy because 'did' doesn't change, even with 'he / she / it'. 
The positive: 
We usually make the positive by adding '-ed' to the infinitive. For example, 'play' becomes 'played'. 
However, there are some irregular verbs, for example 'go' becomes 'went' and 'run' becomes 'ran'. 
(Here's some help if you are not sure how to pronounce '-ed' at the end of a verb). 
I walked (regular) 
you played (regular) 
we ate (irregular) 
they drank (irregular) 
In the negative there aren't any irregular verbs. All verbs use 'did not (didn't) + infinitive':

Questions are also very easy. Just put 'did' before the subject, and the infinitive after it. 
Here are the 'yes / no' questions:

To make a 'wh' question, of course, put the question word at the beginning of the sentence:
