A  float  sensor  for  the  fuel  level  in  the  tank  is  provided  as  standard  in  the 

vehicle.  It  is  located  directly  in  the  fuel  tank.  A  change  in  the  amount  of  fuel 

entails a change in the position of the float. The float itself can be made of both 

metal and plastic. This type of device is divided into two subspecies: 



 

lever - the float is connected to the potentiometer contact using a metal 

lever. A change in position leads to a change in resistance, as a result, the output 

voltage changes. The lever-type fuel level sensor is universal, it can be used in 

any automotive fuel supply system; 



 

 tubular - the float is placed in a special tube immersed in the fuel tank. 

When  the  amount  of  liquid  changes,  the  float  moves  along  a  certain  path.
