By the method of performing resistance, potentiometric sensors are divided into
lamellar with constant resistance;
continuous winding wire;
with a resistive layer.
Lamellar potentiometric sensors were used for relatively rough
measurements due to certain design flaws.
In such sensors, constant resistors, selected at a nominal value in a special way,
are soldered to the lamellas.
The lamella is a design with alternating conductive and non-conductive
elements, along which the current collector contact slides. When the current
collector moves from one conductive element to another, the total resistance of
the resistors connected to it changes by the value corresponding to the nominal
value of one resistance. Resistance changes can occur over a wide range. The
measurement error is determined by the size of the pads.
