2013 Brian McClanahan Summer All-Comer Meets
In June 1971, Dick DeSchriver (ESU Track & Field Coach) started the summer all-comer meets. They quickly gained popularity, with 200-300 participants on average. In 1986, the meets were renamed in honor of Brian McClanahan; and in the early 1990’s, with the help of Bill Donahue (Emrey Track & Field Assoc.), the series was expanded to the Lehigh Valley. We’ve had over 34,000 entries (many who got their start in track and field at these meets) over the years, and we all thank Coach DeSchriver for his efforts and interest.

The summer all-comer meets are dedicated to Brian McClanahan, an outstanding middle-distance runner at East Stroudsburg University, who was killed in an auto accident in November 1985. At the time of his death, Brian owned or shared seven school records at the University. He had begun his running career at the age of twelve by competing in these all-comer meets, and he continued to run each summer throughout his high school and college career.

Our throwing events have been moved to the corner of Normal/Greene St. (Behind Dansbury Cafeteria)
Dates: Thursday—June 6, 13, 20, and 27

Sites: East Stroudsburg University all-weather outdoor track (1/4” or less spikes)

Starting Time:

5:45 PM (field events)

6:00 PM (running events)

Entry Fee: $3 per entry (done at the meet), $15 season pass (individual), $20 season pass (kids), and $30 season pass (family). Large groups or team rate (Contact Joe Koch)

Directions: Take Exit 51 (East Stroudsburg/ESU) off of Route 80. At the top of the ramp, turn right on to Prospect Street. Proceed through the light to your first right (Centre Street). Take a right on to Centre Street. At the second stop sign, the stadium will be on your right.
