LITERATURE REVIEW. The literature on the subject can be divided into the following groups. The first is archaeological sources. Through these sources it is possible to study the relations between the two countries mainly in ancient times. The second is medieval sources. Through these sources, it is possible to adequately cover the state of relations between our medieval states.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY. In the process of writing the article, nationwide methods were used: in particular, systematic, content, functional, comparative analysis, logical and historical approaches to forecasting.
