Q1.Did you have to run during school sport
lessons?
A1: Let’s see now. Yes. There were a variety of
running activities that my PE teachers got me
involved in when I was younger. For instance,
before taking part in team sport activities, we’d
warm up by doing light jogs around the
gymnasium. We also performed a lot of short and
fast paced speed drills to help increase our leg
muscles and endurance.
Q2. Are there any good places to go running
where you live?
A2: It’s sad to say, but in the city center, most
people prefer the safe and boring option of going to
fitness clubs and running on treadmills. However,
in the suburbs there are some large scenic parks
with soft and even surface running paths. Another
option is using school race tracks, which are
sometimes available for public visitors to use.
Q3. Have you done any long distance running?
A3: Have I? Well, I’ve never participated in any
formal long distance running events. However,
when I was a member of my school rugby team, I
had to run a lot. If my memory serves me correctly,
my coach directed my team to run 10 non-stop laps
around the field every practice. I believe that is
equivalent to running around 3000 meters - I guess.
Q4. Would you choose to watch important
running races on TV?
A4: I find it fairly boring to watch most running
events. That being said, I’m always intrigued to
know who the fastest runner in the world is, and
that is often considered as the winner of the
prestigious 100 meter dash. So anytime the
Olympics or World Championships occurs, I don’t
mind tuning in to watch the world’s fastest
sprinters.
