Synthesis
involves putting small parts together to create a whole. This is really
a common-sense definition of the word. In normal language, when we put together a
whole series of skills, we say we are synthesizing those skills. Synthesis refers to the
ability to put parts together to form a new whole. This may involve the production of
a unique communication (theme or speech), a plan of operations (research proposal),
or a set of abstract relations (scheme for classifying information) (Bloom, 1956).
