Describing charts and graphs. Different types of charts, graphs and diagrams
In this unit, we will learn about line, bar and pie-chart (circle graph). We will learn how to read and interpret information from each type of graph, and how to construct these graphs. In this unit we will look at the language used to describe charts and graphs. Graphs or charts are used to present information and data. You can use them to make a comparison or show a trend. The information below will help you determine which type of graph to use.
A pie-chart shows a whole groups a circle and divides the circle into smaller units that looklike slices of a pie. Each smaller slice is a part, percentage,or fraction of the whole. Pie charts are used to show proportions and the importance of each smaller unit in relation to the whole.
