I wonder what this company does:
-to make people so loyal to its brand
-to make so many children and adults all over the world drink Cola every day, almost 2 million servings per day to be exact, though it has been scientifically -proved that it is a harmful drink that can even dissolve plastic
-to make people choose Cola, despite the fact that there're are so many other similar drinks produced nowadays
ANSWERS
Well, the company I can't help telling you about is Coca-Cola. I'm sure there are no people in the world, except newborn babies, of course, who have never heard of and cannot recognise this brand. What's more, there is hardly anyone who doesn't know its slogan 'Always Coca-Cola'. But usually these are the only two things people know about the company. Until recently, frankly speaking, I was one of them. It was only when I started doing research on successful companies for my business course that I discovered a lot more information about it.
Due to this research, now I know that Coca-Cola company was founded in the 19th century in the US and its name comes from the two original ingredients of the drink: coca leaves (this is what I knew before) and kola nuts. It is hard to believe but there're only 2 countries in the world where Cola is not sold. These are Cuba and North Korea. Cola is everywhere and this is what makes it the world's third most valuable brand after Apple and Google.
Nowadays the company produces more than 3,500 beverages, including sodas, energy drinks, and soy-based drinks. In fact, Cola makes so many different beverages that if you drank one per day, it would take you more than nine years to try them all. However, funnily enough, most people in the world associate it with just one drink, which is Coca-Cola. It's interesting that Cola also has several versions. These include caffeine-free Cola, Diet Coke and other versions with lemon, lime, cherry, vanilla or coffee.
I chose this company for my presentation for a reason. I really hoped to understand how Coca-Cola has managed to remain the leader for more than a hundred years despite there are so many competitors and similar drinks. Another thing I wanted to know was how it makes so many children and adults all over the world drink Cola every day, almost 2 million servings per day to be exact, though it has been scientifically proved that it is a harmful drink which dissolves plastic, let alone our intestines. And, finally, I hoped to find out how the company still manages to keep a formula of the drink secret given the fact that it employs tens of thousands people all over the world. So if it hadn't been for this presentation, I would never have allocated time for doing such research. Unfortunately, even this didn't shed light on these questions which, to be honest, made me even more interested in Cola's business activity.
