ANSWERS
A few months ago, when life, so to say, got back to normal... I mean when quarantine restrictions were further relaxed and people were allowed to meet in groups of less than 5, my friends and I decided to get together outdoors and chat.
Of course, like many others, during the lockdown we had Zoom parties to keep ourselves from going fully insane while social distancing. But, in my opinion, there's no substitute for face-to-face interaction. I really missed my friends, and I couldn't wait to meet them in person. And finally we met.
We talked about everything from going to the grocery store to international relations. It was real fun. At some point, one of my friends started talking about the coronavirus outbreak. I was like 'What? Again?' We had already discussed this topic one hundred times before. That's why I didn't see much point in talking about it over and over again. So I was sure no one would be willing to talk about it over and over again it.
However, much to my surprise, most of my friends began to actively discuss this topic. They discussed what caused the disease, how the virus is transmitted, how COVID-19 is diagnosed, what the most common signs of COVID-19 are, how COVID-19 causes loss of smell, how COVID-19 is changing the world, how much protection face masks offer.
I just rolled my eyes at them. Don't get me wrong. I believe that it's very important to stay informed about the coronavirus pandemic, but it's almost as important to take a break from the news 'cause constantly talking ONLY about how the world seems to be all bad all the time is exhausting. So I just didn't participate in that conversation.
