The family I really like is that of my childhood friend. There are five of them: my friend, his wife and their three children, two of whom are twin sisters, and a younger one is a boy. The girls are in their teens, and the boy doesn't look older than 7 or 8. They invited me over for dinner several times. We even went on holiday together last summer. I follow my colleague and his wife on social media. From what I see, I can say that I wish I could have such a great family too. They live in a luxurious flat with a panoramic view of the city. And they have recently had it refurbished. I saw the stories on Instagram, and I swear this is the cosiest flat I've ever seen. Both husband and wife run successful businesses. But unlike the majority of business people who are known to be busy round-the clock, they somehow manage to both run their companies and make time for their three children.
Judging by their photos on Facebook and Instagram, they spend a lot of time together, traveling, walking, having fun. Moreover, they have interesting family traditions and rituals, and they often make surprises for one another. For example, the kids created a funny video to congratulate their mom on her birthday.
It's interesting that there's one rule they never break. They consider that parents should be on the same page about parenting no matter what. They believe that this is the way to raise happy children. But what I admire most is that whenever I see them, they look genuinely happy, and I don't think that it is possible to pretend so naturally.
