Not so long ago, I spent half a day looking for an item that I had no chance to find. Had I known that, I wouldn't have wasted so much time. But at that moment, I was blissfully unaware of the situation.
So here's what happened. One of my friends told me he was going on a camping holiday, so he wondered whether I had a sleeping bag which he could borrow for a few weeks 'cause he didn't know if he would like the activity. That's why he wanted to borrow some necessary items rather than buy them.I remembered that when I studied at school, we went camping several times, and
I had my own sleeping bag. And it seemed to me I'd seen it shortly before that conversation when I was sorting through my stuff. So I told my friend that I would find it and give it to him the next day.
I came home and started searching for the sleeping bag. I've got about 10 storage containers on my balcony, and they are all full. So it's a pain to find a specific item 'cause I have to open them one by one. And this is what I had to do. It took me 2 or 3 hours to check them all. Unfortunately, I found nothing. I started rummaging frantically through the entire flat. Yet, I found nothing.
By the time my X came back home, I'd been searching for that sleeping back for about 5 or 6 hours. And I was feeling desperate. My X looked at me and asked me what was going on. Then he (or she) told me he (or she) had thrown it away as it had been used for many years and he (or she) thought nobody would ever need it. You can't even imagine how angry I was 'cause I could make much better use of my time.
