„Open your Workbooks to Page 50‟ 
Point to Activity 2a and say: 
„Match the words and their past 
forms.‟ STEP 2: 
Check the answers involving the whole class. 
Activity 2b Play “Slap”.

Objectives: to consolidate the past simple regular and irregular verbs; to check the answers in Activity 2a 
STEP 1: 
Put the pupils into two teams. Explain that you will either show a word flashcard or say a verb in the 
infinitive and the pupils have to slap the table if they know the past tense version. (e.g. T: “Go”, P: “Went”). 
STEP 2: 
Begin the game saying the verbs from the following list. Ask the pupil who slapped the table first to give 
his/her answer to win a point for their team.
