INTRODUCTION


The theme of the paper is the construction of social identity through British English literature. The work is about essential milestones in British literature, and the creations of writers who created at these periods and their importance on the world literature stage
The topicality of the work is to interdependence of social identity through British English literature. And in this work how to build it is explained in the example of British literature
The aim is to illuminate the idea of Englishness — English literature, culture, national identity and social thought. Thus, according to the set aim we are to solve the following tasks:
Exploring continuity and mutability in literature.
Comparing social identity of other nations
Defining social identity in the periods of English or British English literature
The novelty of this work is to illuminate all aspects of social identity, at the same time in the example of literature. And what plays a key role in social identity of English literature
The structure of the course paper consists of introduction, two chapters and conclusion which are followed by the bibliographic list of the literature used in the course of research.
