CONCLUSION

The central themes of the three novels that make up the Forsythe Saga trilogy are continued and developed in the second trilogy, dedicated to members of the same family, and - in part - also in the Chapter's End trilogy. And these are above all motifs of ownership and motifs of beauty and love.
As already noted, possessiveness is a central feature not only of the Forsythe family, which is at the centre of Galsworthy's narrative, but also of the many other families that make up the bourgeois class of modern Galsworthy society. These lovers own land, houses, furniture, but also consider their wives, their children as their property, maybe without even realising it.

"The Forsyte Saga is a book that needs to be read at least 2-3 times to begin to understand at least a little bit. It's like diving into the ocean: the more you gain experience, the deeper you can dive next time. Reading the piece the first time, I could only follow the main storyline and the fates of the characters. There are many of them, so even such a task is as challenging as it may seem at first glance. The multitude of characters makes you periodically go back to what you've already read, otherwise you get completely confused. However, this was even to my liking. The central figure of the entire work seemed to me to be Soms. And then there are his wives, his daughter, his parents and so on. It shows how this or that person's fate is entwined with circumstances, either breaking or building. In general, the man remained very ambiguous for me. At first, especially the first time I read it, I felt terribly sorry for him, so rich and so lonely. I didn't understand the actions of his first wife. But a deeper understanding of the meaning of the work made me look at many things in a new way. Maybe it was also the experience of life, because I read it for the first time at school, then at university, and recently I came back to it again... ... And I saw a lot of things with different eyes. I think the Saga... can and should be read at any age. Even if the storyline is familiar, you'll still find and discover something new.

There are many seemingly unnecessary lyrical digressions in the work: about the political situation in the country, about the surrounding area, about people's homes. But the descriptions are not to be missed, as they help the reader to better understand the character, his essence and his ideals.
Next to wealth and luxury there is also a place for poverty. The author shows this contrast very strongly. You also see that money is not synonymous with happiness; that the poor are sometimes happier than the rich, because they just don't see the nuances and situations that literally make the rich "go crazy".
There is so much to write... and say nothing. This work is too deep, you can't just read it, you have to live in it. That's why you can't read it quickly, and you don't need to. It's complicated and that's why I like it. After reading it, you begin to take a different perspective on the world and the events that happen in it.
