Road Passenger Terminal
In general, road passenger terminals (regardless of the spatial concentration of components) are formed from the following sections:
-Passenger platforms and passengers' evacuation (by design vehicle)
-Indoor in door halls and spaces
-Parking lots
-Administrative departments: Police and spaces related to transportation companies
-Passenger Welfare Services
-Additional services of design vehicles
-Driver Welfare Services
-Open spaces and communications
-Terminal Infrastructure Installations
Terminal Platforms
Studies and standards of the terminal determine the level of providing additional facilities to passengers such as the implementation of villas, seating and freight trolleys according to the conditions.
The main function of the platforms is as follows:
Passengers are expected to board the vehicle at the specified time
Short-term stopping of cars for passengers to board
The arrival of passengers in the vehicle
Control the entrance and exit of vehicles
The types of design systems for platforms used in passenger terminals are as follows:
Linear Platforms
The efficiency of linear platforms is not the same as other types of platforms and usually when vehicles (especially buses) use the platform for short stops (maximum time intervals of 10minutes).

Serrated platforms allow vehicles to move independently for entry and exit of the platform and their use is recommended in the design of centralized and half-focused terminals.

In order to exit the vehicle, the platforms need to move backwards and are used when the platforms are occupied in a long time (especially in decentralized intercity terminals).
