Replicas/Information requests (Points of Information)

The remarks are submitted in the form of questions to the speaker or in the form of comments to his speech.

Repeals can only be made by opponents.

Speeches can only be delivered between the first and last 40 seconds of the speaker's speech.

In order to give a rejoinder, a participant should stand up and extend one arm in the direction of the speaker. The participant may also say the word: "question", "comment" or "for that matter" to get the speaker's attention.

A replica cannot last more than 10 seconds.

A contestant may either accept or reject a reply that has been submitted to him/her. The contestant may also ask the opponent filing the reply to put it aside for some time to finish his thought or part of his speech.

Participants should take at least one cue from opposing teams during each of their speeches.

Judging

Debates shall be judged by a Panel of three Judges, if possible. The most experienced Judge shall be appointed by the Head of the Panel of Judges and shall have a number of special powers.

At the end of the debate, the Judges shall meet to score the contestants.

Each speaker receives an individual score for the game on a 40-point scale and each team receives an 80-point scale.
