Dear Fifth Grade Class

Dear Fifth Grade Class,

We are writing you from Lovettsville Elementary School in Lovettsville, VA. It is a town located just two miles south of the Potomac River, and about a one hour drive from Washington, D.C. It is a quiet rural community, and our school has about 500 students. Lovettsville was settled in the 1730s and was a German settlement back then. Our town’s biggest celebrations are the Oktoberfest, May Day, and Tree Lighting/Berserkle on the Squirkle.

Fifth grade is the last elementary grade, and we stay with our class for all subjects. We have P.E., music, art, computer lab, guidance, and library as specials and we enjoy after school clubs like Yoga, Boot Camp, Running, Chess, Gymnastics, Dance, Photography, Art, Cooking, and Nature club.

We voted as a class, and here are some class favorites:

Favorite food: crab legs, mac and cheese

Favorite candy: KitKat, Skittles

Favorite subjects: Reading/Writing and Math

Favorite books: Where the Red Fern Grows, Wonder
