WARM UP activity

Activity 1. Questionnaire (pair works)

Teacher asks pupils to work in pairs, think what they can see in a museum and ask their own partner some question about their impression. Teacher elicits the answer and gives interesting comments. (handout 1)

Activity 2. Picture vocabulary (pair work)


-Teacher hands out pictures and a sheet of paper with definition.(handout2):

  • Teacher chooses one stronger and one weaker leaner to make pair;

  • Give pictures and cards with definition;

  • Ask to match pictures with their own definition by predication.

  • After finishing all pairs exchange their answers with other pairs and check it by the help of teacher;

Activity 3. “Double P or PP” – The place of phrases (group work)

Teacher divides the class into 2 groups teacher hands out papers of small text with omitted phrases and asks to complete it (handout 3):


  • Teacher asks students to read and choose the missing phrases to complete the sentence;

  • Teacher explains students that they should choose according to the context and grammar;

  • After finishing, 2 groups exchange their ideas with each other.

Activity 4. “File folder fun” (group work) Listening.


Teacher asks pupils to work in group and pay attention File folder table.(handout 4):

Step 1: Teacher hands out flashcards with The table of “File folder fun” game and information flashcards.

Step 2: Teacher asks members to listen recording carefully, in details and make notes if necessary

Step 3: After finishing to listen, T asks learners to put information cards in correct file folder column with WWW questions (1. What is the name of this museum? 2. When it was found? 3. What is it famous for?).

Step 4: After finishing teacher check all groups answers and give praise the group that do task correctly and finish first.


Learner work in pairs to match pictures with explanations, find correct answers easly and compare their answer with other pairs.


Learners work in groups, complete sentences and exchange their ideas with each other.

Learners work in groups, listen recording, write down note, fill column with appropriate information cards.
