Bus 627

Attention Route 627 Bus Riders:  Please note there will be a yellow school bus tomorrow, Wednesday, November 23^rd. Keep in mind it is a minimum day, so make sure you come to the ASB window at brunch to buy your ticket. 

ASB Lunch Activity

Calling all LEGO fanatics! If you love Legos, then come represent your team on the outdoor stage at lunch today for a fall-themed LEGO build-off! If you want to participate, talk to your team teacher. And remember, to keep on building.

Dude, Be Nice Club

Students, remember the Dude, Be Nice Club meets today at the beginning of lunch in 506.

Robotics Club

Robotics practice is today from 3:20-4:30 in room 506.  See you there.

Video Production

If you are applying to be in the Video Production class for next semester, please remember that applications are due to Mr. Jacobson by today.

Graphic Novel Club

The Graphic Novel Club meets today at lunch in room 161.  We will be working on our original comics, so don't miss out!

Coloring Club 

Coloring club will continue through the end of the week.  Stop by the library during brunch or lunch to participate.  If you make something really cool, add it to the gallery wall for the whole school to enjoy!

Dodgeball Tournament

Are you interested in representing your team in the La Mesa annual dodgeball tournament? See your team teacher for information and a chance to sign up. The winning team gets a chance to try and beat the undefeated staff team!

Winter Dance

Winter dance tickets are on sale at brunch or lunch for all students with no D’s or F’s on the progress report. Students with D’s and F’s can purchase tickets beginning next Monday the 28th. Tickets will be $5.00. The ticket does not include food or drinks, so bring cash. We will have gourmet wings and fries, water, and sodas. Your ticket does include unlimited photo booth access, as well as access to the game truck. Should be a fun event, so wear your glow in the dark outfits for an awesome Black Light experience!

November 22, 1963 – John F. Kennedy, the 35^th president of the United States, was assassinated as he rode through Dallas, Texas. His alleged killer, Lee Harvey Oswald, was killed the following day. Lyndon Johnson was sworn in as the 36^th president hours after Kennedy died. Today is also the birthdate of American movie actress, Scarlett Johansson. She is 31 years old.

What You Should Know
Today is “Go for a Ride Day.”  The greatest thing about Go for a Ride Day is that there is no one, right way to celebrate it. At the end of the day, what’s being celebrated is the freedom that the development of transportation has afforded us, and this is what we should take care to enjoy on this day. What is your favorite mode of transportation? Depending on where you live in the world, you could spend this day traveling somewhere into the unknown by boat, plane, helicopter, car, motorcycle, roller-skates, skateboard, or even more old-fashioned modes of transport, like by horse, sleigh, or horse-drawn carriage. How you travel doesn’t matter, as long as you celebrate the free spirit of the day.
