particle size of AS to < 0.3 mm showed a steep increase of the metal release throughout the
experiment, especially after 21 days. Higher values of extracted metals from slag particles <
0.3 mm were observed at lower pulp density (1 %) as compared to 3 % and reached up to
5400 mg/kg (Cu) and 3375 mg/kg (Zn). The extraction yields under biotic incubations were
improved by factors of 8.7 (Cu), 6.8 (Zn) and 42.4 (Fe), respectively, as compared to
incubations with growth medium without bacteria (Figure 7.3).
