iii) Quantification of metals accommodated in mineral phases 
Modal  phase  composition  was  estimated  by  point  counting  using  JMicro  Vision  1.2.7 
software. Furthermore, the distribution of metals between mineral phases was estimated from 
modal phase composition and average concentration of metals in individual phases based on 
microprobe  data.  Due  to  proportional  variability  of  mineral  phases  and  the  extent  to  which 
individual  compounds  vary  in  proportions,  values  present  only  approximate  percentage  of 
metals accommodated in the mineral phases relative to the bulk composition of the materials.
