Introduction
Any social phenomenon develops according to certain laws. Language, as a
special social phenomenon, also develops according to certain laws that are
characteristic only of language. In order to understand the current state of the
language, its grammatical forms, its phonetic structure, the structure of its
vocabulary, it is necessary to consider each phenomenon of the modern language
as a well-known result of a long historical development, as the result of a number
of changes and transformations that have taken place over more or less long
periods of time.
Before appearing in the form in which we observe this system in the modern
language, the pronoun system of the English language went through a process of
development through three stages: in the Old English, Middle English and New
English periods. For a long time, the system of English pronouns has undergone
various changes due to various reasons. The development of the pronoun system is
closely related to the appearance of the definite and indefinite articles in the
English language.
The relevance

 of this topic lies in the fact that by studying the changes in
the pronoun system and the nature of the English article, we can assume its further
changes in the modern language.
The aim
of the work is to consider and identify changes in the English
pronoun system during its development in the Old English, Middle English and
New English periods and the formation of the article.
To achieve this goal, we need to complete the following 
tasks
:
1. consider the changes in the English pronoun system until today
2. study the features of various pronouns of each period
