At first think I should mention that I learned very a lot of information about detective genre and this genre's how to appeared. I want talking about how to writing during my course work and my conclusion. In the process of studying the writing of a detective, we came to the conclusion that creating a work of this genre is fraught with many difficulties, such as observing the norms of a classic detective and character images.
We found that the rules of the detective story are an important component of this genre, since they briefly contain successful and unsuccessful detective moves: the detective should not be a criminal, the murder should not be suicide, the indiscernible twin brothers, etc. should not be present in the book, etc. d.
We noted that the success of a good book is largely dependent on the successful creation of character images. The characters are divided into two types: one-dimensional (waiters, receptionist, sellers, etc.) and multidimensional (main or secondary characters), and comprise three facets: physiological, psychological and sociological. It can also be argued that the image of the characters relies on the expressive means of fiction: lexical, stylistic, syntactic, phonetic and graphic.
On the example of the detectives of the English writer Agatha Christie, we were able to observe her ways of creating positive and negative characters, the expressive means that she uses at the same time, including the author’s words (“get-rich-quick-tack”), original epithets (“disinfected medical practitioner ”,“ wooden-faced man ”,“ hot-headed feminist ”), multi-valued comparisons (“ She ... looked a little like a mermaid ”), and so on.
When analyzing the work of Agatha Christie, we were able to highlight the characteristic features that make her detectives more exciting and twisted. These features can relate to both part of her work (“the one who was previously acquitted” turns out to be a killer), and the whole work as a whole (“the presence of a love line against the background of a detective”). We saw how difficult the path of the writer is and how important the nuances of characters and situations are when writing a book.
In the field of the detective, a lot of scientific research has been undertaken, already from the end of the XIX century this topic begins to interest various writers. Nevertheless, the study of the detective remains relevant, because, describing the structural, compositional and plot features of the detective, the authors of scientific studies very rarely attract the linguistic and stylistic apparatus, motivating this by the averaging of the detective’s style, the cliches of his language, the programming of his characters, plot moves, and so on. Further. In our work, we only slightly touched on the linguistic context of the detective, because this topic is very voluminous and there is no unequivocal opinion of scientists.
In our opinion, the work of the English writer Lady Agatha Christie was and remains one of the best examples of the detective. Her books are recognized as a nationwide masterpiece of detective literature, and can serve as a role model for many writers. The study of her work continues, involving more and more specialists in the field of linguistics and literary criticism. And this is completely justified, as the writer's books have a great influence on world literature, and, in particular, on the literature of our country.
