INTRODICTION
The romantic and social cruelty that is unique in its own history and persecuted at home and recognized in other countries-American Literature is of particular interest for philosophical reflection . Literary criticism as a scientific science not only considers creative methods, but also pays great attention to the history of literature .This interest can be expressed in different ways: the history of a particular literary direction, the history of literature of a particular country, and so on.
My course work is going to deal with the very well known American naturalist writer Jack London and the analysis of two of his best known arctic tales,[love of Life ] and [To Build a Fire] Joseph Kirkland [The Meanest Main in Spring Country ] Rebecca Harding , Davis Harold Fredric, Franck Norris, Theodor Dreiser , Stephen Crane , Ellen Glasgow ,[Barren Ground]. When I started my Researches Realism I Became aware of how difficult it was to provide a well- elaborated definition . I thought it was a good idea to introduce the philosophical and literary premises of the movement first and then to study the movement in Europe before focusing on the American tendencies .Realism was first proposed and formulated by French novelist Emile Zola and it was introduced to America by American novelist Frank Norris. It is a new and harsher realism .It is theory in literature emphasizing scientific observation of life without idealism or avoidance of the ugly . American literature naturalists dismissed the validity of comforting moral truths . They attempted to achieve extreme objectivity and frankness ,presenting characters of low social and economic classes who were dominated by their environment and heredity. The relevance of this work is related to the need to acquire theoretical knowledge in the field of American literature .Object of research –the literature of the XIX -XX centuries .The subject is Realistic trend in the American literature and it is main representatives. The current and creative method that emerged in European and American literature and art ; sought to reflect the real being objectively, clearly and without felling .Realistic occurred under the influences of significant advances in the natural sciences .The main image object is main , his natural and physiological lifestyle; knew nature and the environment as its living and material environment. This, in turn , led to the development of an artistic culture with limited artistic potential. Easily combined with academic imagery to create many forms of salon art. From the middle of the 19th century onwards, the traditional rise of the realism. In historical, religious, and figurative genres was deliberately ‘’reduced’’ to a mere figment of the imagination. In the literature , realistic aimed at the scientific [experimental] study of human behavior .A literary –artistic work was considered a ‘’human document’’. Realism first appeared in France . The end of the 19th and 20th centuries became a very important moment for American literature –new authors were recognized, critical relationships have been reported. At the same time, it is recognized that this trend is a reality in the history of secular thinking in the world; the breadth of subject matter, new imagery methods, and the study of personality and crowd relations were assessed as positive events. Objective : To form a knowledge of the U.S. literature of the period, to fill in the gaps and to identify key areas of development. In the process of achieving this goal , the following tasks were identified and solved : search for information on a given topic ; Analysis and processing of the obtained data; Identify the main features of American literature of the XIX-XX centuries .Course work consists of three chapters, introduction , conclusion and recommendation and list of bibliography .
