3.2
Before presenting any documents the applicant must contact the Court
Officer, normally by telephone:
(a)
to give notice
of a pending application;
(b)
to make arrangements for a Judge to hear the application;
(c)
to inform the Court Officer whether there are multiple
applications and whether a particular Judge has previously had
the conduct of the pending
or related applications;
(d)
to inform the Court Officer whether the applicant proposes to
exhibit videotape or other recordings to the affidavit so that (if
necessary) arrangements can be made for the Judge to view or
hear the recordings before the application is heard.
3.3
The affidavit and any relevant documents or things must be delivered
in a sealed envelope to the Associate to the Judge who the Court
Officer advises the applicant is
the Judge who will hear the
application.
3.4
The Associate will advise the applicant of the time and the place
nominated for the hearing.

Applications under Section 7 - Hearing and Subsequent Activity
4.1.
The application shall be heard by the Judge
without notice being given
to any person the subject of the application in private chambers. No
person (including members of the Judge's personal staff) who is not
the applicant or a representative of the applicant may be present
during the hearing.
4.2
At the conclusion of the hearing the Judge will:
(a)
either note approval of the issue
of the warrant or provide
reasons (oral or in writing) for refusing to approve the issue of
the warrant; and
(b) hand to the applicant or the applicant's representative either the
note of approval or the written reasons for refusal (if any), the
warrant (if any), the affidavit and any other documents or
things on which the applicant relied.

4.3
The Court will not retain any copies of either the note of approval or
the written reasons for refusal (if any), of the warrant (if any), of the
affidavit and of any other documents or things on which the applicant
relied. The Judge will retain documents related to the application, at
his or her discretion.
4.4
Any notes made by the Judge will be securely retained by the Judge in
a sealed envelope.
4.5
An envelope containing documents in accordance with the above
paragraphs is not open to inspection
by any person other than as
required or authorised by law.
