Eurico Seabra, obtained is PhD in the scientific domain of Machines and Mechanisms in 2005, is Teacher 
and Investigator in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the School of Engineering of the 
University of Minho (PORTUGAL) since 1992. It develops his academicals activity teaching curricular 
units, in the areas of the Industrial Automation and of Mechanical/Mechatronics Design. Relatively to the 
investigation activity it bases his main activity on the area of the instrumentation and control, projecting 
hardware and software, and modeling and simulation of discrete and hybrid systems. Another wider area 
of investigation activity is relative to the mechatronic design of industrial equipment’s, above all in the 
areas of the mechanical technology and of the biotechnology. In the last years, he has been dedicating matter focuses to the concepcion, 
design and development of medical devices and of rehabilitation. In conclusion, as a result of his teaching, research and specialized 
services, he published about 25 articles in renowned journals and 120 papers in conference proceedings, has 5 book chapters and 3 
books published.
