RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES AND THEIR PROSPECTS IN

Abstract. 
The article provides a brief overview of renewable energy, the types of renewable energy sources such as solar 
energy, wind energy, hydropower energy, ocean energy, geothermal energy and bioenergy. A graphical description of the world's 
statistics of these energy sources is shown. A graphical description of the world's most widely used traditional energy sources and 
renewable energy, as well as the percentage distribution, is shown. It is noted that there is a state program on the use of alternative and 
renewable energy sources in the Republic of Azerbaijan and its main objectives are indicated. The set development goals are noted and 
potential opportunities are explored. Despite the fact that Azerbaijan has large traditional energy resources, the growing depletion of 
these types of energy is highlighted and the importance of developing opportunities for the use of renewable energy to ensure future 
energy security is emphasized. It is also noted that the use of renewable energy, in addition to saving traditional energy resources, is 
also environmentally friendly and very important for the protection of the environment. Furthermore, it is proposed to use the SCADA 
system to increase the reliability, stability, maximum productivity and high quality of renewable power plants.
