influence of [n], the consonant [d] changed to [n] and then disappeared. The remaining 
phoneme [n] under the influence of [k] changed to [ŋ]. In this word, we observe assimilation 
which affects the active organ of speech, the type of obstruction and the manner of the 
production of noise. 
Assimilation affecting the work of the vocal cords is observed when a voiceless 
consonant can become voiced under the influence of a neighboring voiced phoneme. For 
example 
goose[gu:s] – gooseberry[guzbəri]
. A voiced consonant can change to a voiceless 
one under the influence of a nearby voiceless phoneme. So, in the word
