TOPIC:CORRUPTION IN EDUCATION SECTOR

CORRUPTION IN EDUCATION THREATENS THE WELL-BEING OF SOCIETY BECAUSE IT ERODES SOCIAL TRUST AND WORSENS INEQUALITY.IT SABOTAGES DEVELOPMENT BY UNDERMINING THE FORMATION OF EDUCATED,COMPETENT,AND ETHICAL INDIVIDUALS FOR FUTURE LEADERSHIP AND LABOUR FORCE.EGYPT IS A COUNTRY SPANNING THE NORTHEAST CORNER AFRICA AND SOUTHWEST CORNER OF ASIA BY A LAND BRIDGE.EGYPT IS A MEDITERRANEAN COUNTRY.IT’S CLAIMED THAT UNITARY SEMI-PRESIDENTAL REPUBLIC,OFFICAL LANGUAGE IS ARABIC,NATIONAL LANGUAGE IS EGYPTIAN ARABIC.IN EGYPT PRIVATE TUTORING IS WIDESPREAD.THE SYSTEM IS PLAGUED BY ADECLINE IN FULL-TIME PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS,AN UNDERFUNDED PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM LARGE CLASS SIZES,POOR FACILITIES A DENSE CURRICULM WHICH HAS CONTRIBUTEDTO THE DECLINE OF TEACHING QUALITY.ALSO,EGYPT’S EDUCATION SYSTEM 130th AMONG 137TH COUNTRIES.THE PUPIL TO TEACHER RATIO HAS SLIGHTLY INCREASED IN BOTH ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION IN RECENT YEARS,WHILE TEACHER’S SALARIES ARE FALLING.EGYPT’S HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM,MEANWHILE,IS UNDERFUNDED AND INEFFICIENT BY MOST ACCOUNTS.



COUNTRY POLICY

VISION OF THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION IS PROVIDING HUMAN RESOURCES WITH GROWING CAPACITY,EFFICENCY AND THE HIGHEST DEGREE OF QUALITY AND PROFESSIONAL ETHICS TO BUILD A SOCIETY BASED ON LEARNING AND KNOWLEDGE-BASED ECONOMY.MISSION OF MINISTRY OF EDUCATION:TO LED, MANAGE AND DEVELOP THE PRE-UNIVERSITY EDUCATION SECTOR TO RESPOND TO THE SOCIAL,ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL NEEDS OF EGYPTIAN SOCIETY WITH A NATIONAL IDENTIFY THAT IS INSEPARABLE FROM GLOBAL TRENDS.LONG TERM GOALS IS COMPREHENSIVE OF YOUTH WHILE INSTILLING THE SPIRIT OF CITIZENSHIP,TOLERANCE ,NON-VIOLENCE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE FOUNDATIONS OF FREEDOM AND JUSTICE.MINISTRY HAS ADOPTED THREE REFORM AND IMPROVEMENT POLICIES IN THE LINE WITH THE UNITED NATIONS CHARTER ON HUMAN RIGHTS:

PROVIDINF EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE INTIRE SCHOOL-AGE POPULATION TO ENROLL OR COMPLETE SECONDARY AND GENERAL EDUCATION WITH POOR AREAS AS A FIRST PRIORITY

IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF EFFECTIVENESS OF THE EDUCATIONAL SERVICE BY PROVIDING ACONTEMPORARY CURRICULM,E-FFICIENT EMPLOYEE TECHNOLOGY,EDUCA-TIONAL AND NON-ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES,AN EFFECTIVE TEACHER FOR EACH CHILD IN EACH SEMESTR-,EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP IN EACH SHOOL AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROFESSIONAL AND INTERNAL DEVELOPMENT OF EACH TEACHER

STRENGTHENING THE INSTITUTIONAL STRUCTURE ,ESPECIALLY IN TE-CHNICAL -SCHOOLS-, AND BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF EDUCATION PERSONNEL TO DECENTRALIZE GOVERNANCE.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION

TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM WITH CORRUPTION IN EDUCATION SECTOR IS TO CREATE A COMMITTEE TO AVOIDING THE PRIVATE TUTORING CLASSES IN EACH SCHOL OF THE COUNTRY. ALSO, IT’S NECESSARY TO MENTION THAT INCREASING THE TEACHERS’S SALARIES. ADDITIONALLY TEACHERS ARE CHECKED UP BEFORE BECOMING THE TEACHER.
