IV. CONCLUSIONS

Combinatorial libraries of the mixed oxide system

were made using a modified Pechini powder

synthesis process in combination with inkjet deposition.

Crystalline powders with moderately high surface area

were formed at temperatures less than 500 °C under air.

Using the solution-phase synthesis route has several dis-

tinct advantages over other synthesis techniques for pow-

der processing. Powder samples in the copper-cerium

oxide system exhibit catalytic activity for the CO oxida-

tion reaction in the temperature range of 150 to 350 °C.

This technique was successfully applied to a second ox-

ide system (La

1−x

Sr

x

CoO

3

). It has been proved a useful

processing route for the generation of combinatorial ox-

ide powder libraries.
