Single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP):
A single-nucleotide variation in a genetic sequence; a
common form of variation in the human genome.
Small (or short) inferring RNA (siRNA):
Any short, double-stranded regulatory RNA molecule
that binds to and induces the degradation of target RNA molecules.
Systems biology:
Research that takes a holistic rather than reductionist approach to
understanding organism functions.
Translation:
During protein synthesis, the process through which the sequence of bases in a
molecule of messenger RNA is read in order to create a sequence of amino acids.
