The international requirements of foreign language proficiency are aimed at
obtaining a certain level ofprofessionally oriented communicative competence on the
target language. The process of the integration of Uzbekistan into the multicultural
global educational and informational environment enhances the problem of the
necessity of foreign language communicativecompetence formation for students to
beable to carry out professionally oriented interaction with people of different
countries, to successfully establish the future career, to face the challenges of
competitiveness in the developing world. Learning English is an important
component of professional education for all majors at the universities in Uzbekistan.
The purpose of studying it is to develop foreign language professional
communicative competence of students. The high level of the formation of this
competence makes it possible to carry out professionally oriented communication in
English and use it. Internet has become an essential element in the classroom.
Teachers and students benefit from the tools provided by the Internet. At schools,
colleges and universities, the Virtual patforms offer a wide range of tools that
enhance the learning experience; the success of the combination of traditional classes
and virtual follow-up cannot be denied. In addition, the use of Information
Technology and Communication (ITC) tools -email, chat and forum, among others-
has effectively strengthened the teacher-student relationship. But even though
teachers are incorporating these Virtual Learning Environment tools to the traditional
classroom, according toJarvis it was originally created for distance education, that is,
teaching without the face-to-face relationship [3;47].During a process of English for
Special Purposes teaching, a certain lack of usingVirtual Learning Environment as a
valuable instrument in EFL competency development has been found. Thus, teachers
should look for appropriate ways to apply innovative educational multimedia tools to
upgrade e-learning courses.Virtual Learning Environment complex consists of the
following main sets: curriculum sections, student’s portfolio, electronic
communication means and links. In thisplatform the teacher has extra rights to
modify the context according to the adopted rules of an academic portal usage. The
students’ portfolio is viewed as an instrument to develop students’ personal
development in academic activities during a professionally oriented learning process.
The portfolio contains the syllabus, grading, checking up materials, assignments, and
other materials, related to foreign language communicative competence development.
Among a wide set of online platforms, we chose the Edmodo, which implies different
methods to be used in ESP virtual class, such as professionally oriented discussions,
