Annotation
A great deal has been written about what English as an international language (EIL),ranging from 
a view of EIL as the many varieties of English that are spoken today to use of English by second 
language speakers of English.The aim of the article is to grapple with defining the construct of EIL 
and how it is becoming as a international language. English is an international and well on its way 
to becoming the dominant international language. English is an official language United Nations and 
many other international organizations. Books, magazines, and newspapers written in English are 
available in many countries around the world.
