of such organizations. For instance, European Union and the CIS are among them. This is a testament
to the development of the English language.
In short, these were the stages of development of the English language. Now, if it is about the
influence of English on the field of «Tourism», as long as there is a human being, it can explain the
events that took
place in its imagination, speaking through sounds and writing through letters. I want
to emphasize that the essence of English in the field of tourism is that, this language creates a chain of
communication among the population of the world, because by knowing the language of the world,
you will not be ashamed to go to any country, you can study independently their historical, cultural
and spiritual values. Today, travel agencies continue to operate in Uzbekistan. Whether you want to
travel and make it clear which country to go to, you need to know the language of that country, or at
least one of the world’s languages, or English.
In the world, the first travel agency was opened by Cook, in London in 1860. Later, the tourism
industry, like other industries, reached its peak. The English language provides the above mentioned
facts and means of communication during the trip to the field of «Tourism». Currently, ones working
in the field of tourism, including the Tashkent Yeoju Technical Institute, where I study, pays great
attention to study English, Russian and Korean languages. This is not in vain because the above lan-
guages are “World Languages. Anyone who wants to work for any travel agency is also required to
be fluent in foreign languages first. We must not forget how important the English language is for
tourism. The tourism industry also has its own branches and types. These include pilgrimage tour-
ism, travel tourism, leisure tourism and sports tourism. If we talk about the influence of the English
language on tourism, for example, in the field of pilgrimage tourism, if we take the sacred place in
any country, it is the ancient and great city of Bukhara, located in Uzbekistan. Bukhara was home
to scholars such as Imam al-Bukhari and
Bahauddin Naqshbandi, who contributed to the science of
Hadith. Now, their lives are being covered in English. Learning English can help you learn about oth-
er countries. English language and tourism are closely linked each other. I would not be wrong to say
that English can be an integral part of the tourism industry. Of course, English, the world language,
has played an important role in the development of the above types of tourism. Travelers, whether
they want to or not, are primarily interested in learning the language of the country, where they would
like to visit. It is impossible to know people’s opinions and interests without knowing the language.
Today, there are more than 250
countries in the world, and 60-75% of them speak English. This is a
high figure, which can be explained by the growing popularity of English.
I would like to explain the main influence of English on tourism with the following example.
Let’s say you want to travel you need a ticket, and on that ticket you can see two languages, one is
English, which is the world language, and the other is the local language. I want to note that it is im-
possible to know and see a country, a state without knowing the language, so the impact of English
on tourism is unique.
