Series Circuit

  • One path for current to flow
    • Total resistance is equal to the sum of the individual resistances.
    • Total voltage is equal to the sum of the individual voltage drops.

Parallel Circuits

  • Voltage is the same throughout the circuit.
  • Current is the sum of the individual circuits.
  • Total resistance is always less than the smallest resistance.
  • Laws that govern parallel circuits:
  • If there is the same resistance in parallel, the resistance can be divided by the amount of times used. Examples:
