Hobby
1.Hobby is a favorite occupation of person in his free time. 2.I have many friends. 3.They are very different and they have different kinds of hobbies. 4.One of my girl friends, for example, likes to knit very much. 5.in the evening she sits on the sofa and knits a beautiful pullover or sweater. 6.She also knits for her little sister, her mother and her girl friends. 7. Another girl friend of mine spends all her time sewing things: skirts, blouses, and dresses. 8.She makes it nicely and she always looks good. 9. One of my friends likes to make everything with his hands. 10.He can repair an iron, a radio-set or a tape recorder. 11.I think it’s a very good hobby. 12.Many children and grown-ups are very fond of collecting. 13.Some collect old coins; others collect post-cards. 14.As for me, my hobby is collecting stamps. 15.Now I have 5 albums full of stamps, it is more than one thousand of them. 16.I like to sit at the table in the evening and arrange new stamps in the albums, or write in the names of the countries, or just look through the stamps. 17.Each stamp has a story to tell about distant countries and new people. 18.I see picture of people, birds and animals, which I have never seen. 19.Kings and presidents pass before my eyes and I can follow the history of whole nations. 20.My hobby is not only wonderful but very useful too.

At the theatre

1.There are not many theatres in my town, but they are all very popular with the public. 2.I am a theatre lover too. 3.As for me, I prefer drama to all other theatres, but I like opera and musical comedy too. 4.I’ll never forget my first visit to the Opera and Ballet Theatre. 5.My friend and I wanted to see the famous ballet Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky. 6.We bought the ticket in advance and came to the theatre half an hour before the show. 7.At 7 sharp the performance began. 8.From the very first minute I was deeply impressed by everything I saw on the stage. 9.The costumes were fine. 10.The dancing and music was thrilling.11.The ballet seemed to me a fairy tale. 12.I had never seen anything wonderful. 13.My friend also enjoyed every minute of it. 14.When the curtain fell at the end, of the performance there came a storm of applause. 15.It seemed that it would never end. 16.The dancers received call after call.17.They were presented with large bouquets of flowers. 18.We also applauded enthusiastically. 19.The performance was a great success.
