Performance and emission analysis on 4-stroke single cylinder diesel engine using biodiesel (EUCALYPTUS OIL)

DESCRIPTION:

A single cylinder compression ignition engine is operated using eucalyptus oil blend as fuel and compared with the performance and emission characteristics of diesel fuel. It shows that mixing of eucalyptus oil with diesel fuel up to 40% increases the break thermal efficiency by 2.5% from the reference fuel. Reduced viscosity and increased volatility are benefits of this blend. Almost 50% smoke free operation was achieved with B40 mode at heavier loads.
