Nadezhda Dukhovny was born and raised in Uzbekistan and made aliya in 2005. She holds an MA in Linguistics from Tel Aviv University and works in translation. She has a true interest about her motherland and would like to tell more about that fascinating country to make Israeli readers familiar with another culture from other part of the globe.

Museums play an important role in raising public awareness of their country’s history. The city of Jizzakh boasts a large number of museums that reflect its history and, along with it, the history of the entire country.

Each visitor to the Hamid Olimjon and Zulfiya Museum in Jizzakh can feel that the history of the museum is inextricably linked with the present.

The museum was founded on December 30, 1988, and since then has always attracted the attention of not only local but also foreign literary critics.

The works of the famous Uzbek poet Hamid Olimjon and the queen of poetry Zulfiya Israilova made a great contribution to the development of Uzbek literature and culture.

If we want to look at the value of this museum in numbers, we will find that the exhibition area of the museum is 200 square meters. The total number of exhibits reaches 2,172, of which 1,761 are in the main fund, 411 are in the auxiliary fund, and 441 are at the exhibition.
