AILEEN JOINER SCHOLARSHIP
The Aileen Joiner scholarship was established as a memorial to Aileen Joiner whose goal was to provide financial assistance to local high school students pursing a legal or medical degree at an institute of higher learning within the state of Florida.
Eligibility

Scholarships are to be utilized at institutions of higher learning within the State of Florida.

Enrolled as a full-time student for the upcoming school year.

Pursuing a legal or medical degree.

High school senior at Mount Dora High School or Christian Home and Bible School.
The information below outlines the requirements of the scholarship application package. Please be sure to include all parts listed below or your submission will be disqualified.
■ Application Form
Applications must be completed in full using black or blue ink. Typed applications are preferable on the PDF form in Times New Roman Font size 12.
■ Transcript
Applicants must provide a copy of their entire high school transcript and/or GED diploma.
■ Letter of Recommendation
Applicants must provide a minimum of one (1) letter of recommendation from a teacher, employer, sports coach or other professional who can attest to your capabilities.
■ Essay - 1,000 words - Why is it important for every citizen to exercise their right to vote?
■ Personal Statement - 100 words - Why does the applicant deserves the scholarship?
■ Resume – Preferable – (Not Required)
The scholarship funds will be paid directly in the name of the educational institution on behalf of the recipient upon receipt of a written proof of enrollment verification. This scholarship is renewable up to 4 years of undergraduate studies provided the student maintains at least a 3.0 GPA and is still pursuing a medical or legal degree. Renewal applications will be mailed beginning in February and must be returned to the Mount Dora Community Trust by the deadline on the website to be considered. Distributions are to be made without discrimination as to race, color, creed or national origin.
