Add Class – Using a Class Code

The Class Code option is perfect for those occasions when you want to connect to devices that are 

on the move between rooms and therefore not necessarily assigned to the same Device Group.

The teacher can create a class as and when required that has a 6-character class code assigned to 

it. The code is shared with students, verbally or via email, chat etc, and when the student enters the 

matching code, the devices they are using will connect to the new class. 

1.  Select Add Class. 

2.  Choose Class Code as the connection type. The Class Code will be displayed.

3.  Complete the remaining fields as required.

4.  Click Add. The new class will be added to the class list and the Class Code will be displayed on 

the Class Tile or in the List View.

5.  The teacher can launch the class and share the code with the required students (verbally, or 

copied into an email or an appropriate online communication tool).

6.  When students receive the code, they need to enter it into the Join Class desktop shortcut (if 

the option is enabled in the Device Group settings), or, via the Student icon in the system tray 

(Windows). Or for other platforms, the code can be entered via the provided Class Codes option.

7.  When they click Join, the devices will connect to the class. (If the teacher hasn’t launched the 

class by this stage, students will receive an ‘awaiting teacher’ message.)

Note: Organization Administrators can disable the Class Code feature in Organization>>Settings>>
