Vladimir Pitin was born 7^th October 1952 in Leningrad. Current President of Russian Federation. His father – Vladimir Spiridonovich Putin, he served in the submarine. Mother – Maria Ivanovna Putina, worked in a factory.
Graduate of the Faculty of Law, Leningrad State University. He became the first person of the state on December 31, 1999, after the resignation of Russian President Boris Yeltsin when he was 47 years old.
Career. Putin served in the KGB of the USSR from 1975 till 1991. In 1985-1990, Putin worked in the GDR through the foreign intelligence service of the KGB. In 1989 he was awarded the bronze medal "For Merit" of the National People's Army of the GDR. In March 1994, Putin was appointed first deputy chairman of the government of St. Petersburg, retaining his position as head of the foreign relations committee. March 26, 1999 Putin became Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, retaining the post of Director of the FSB.
May 7, 2000 Putin took office as president of Russia.
