Activity 1 Work in groups of 4/5. Play “Find someone who…”. 5 min
Objectives: to introduce the topic;
to develop speaking skills
STEP 1: Put the pupils into groups of 4/5.
STEP 2: Ask the pupils to copy the table in the Workbook.
STEP 3: The pupils write the names of the pupils in their groups in the table. 
STEP 4: They ask each other the following questions and fi ll in the table:
e.g. Do you like…?
Have you ever taken a trip to…? 
Would you like to make a journey by…?
STEP 5: Ask a representative from the groups to report how many people in their 
group have the same answers.
Activity 2 Work in pairs.  Read the defi nitions and complete the sentences. Use 
the words “journey”, “travel” or “trip”. 8 min
Objective: to develop listening skills
STEP 1: The pupils read the explanation of the words “journey”, “travel” and 
“trip”.
STEP 2: Then they complete the sentences in the Workbook.
